Example1
If asked to order the following numbers from smallest to
largest, the pupils would insert the orange brick first, followed
by the red brick, green brick, dark blue brick, light blue brick
and finally, the yellow brick, in that order. If the colour
sequence is correct, then the problem has been correctly
solved, all parts are correct.
Green 26
Red 12
Orange 9
Dark Blue 48
Light Blue 56
Yellow 64
Example2
Assign the colour coded answers to the expressions
7x6= Green 24
3x6= Red 18
9x6= Orange 36
12x6= Dark Blue 42
6x6= Light Blue 54
4x6= Yellow 72
To correctly answer and solve all 6 facts correctly, the bricks must be inserted in the
following sequence: Dark blue, followed by red, light blue, yellow, orange and finally, green.
The teacher can reveal the correct colour sequence using the Six Bricks interactive
whiteboard tool or their own master answer mat.
In the same way, children can code the ‘Sequence 1 to 6’, Code ‘Smallest to Largest’ or
Code ‘Mid-Point’. There are teacher notes within the interactive whiteboard software on
how to use and apply all these tools. Visit www.sixbrickseducation.com to access the
software.
