This mat is used to build countless skills, from perceptual and spatial awareness skills,
to carefully listening and following instructions, to the vocabulary of movement and key
number skills.

Let us do just one activity as an example of how the mat works. For this activity, the
bottom line is 1, second is 2, mid-line is 3, next is 4 and top line is 5.

Begin with all bricks in this position on
the B-line (The red line).

Ideally, you would call the moves and
have a child move their bricks. In
this exercise they would be working
on exercising their listening skills,
number, colour and spatial awareness
