WHAT“S MISSING?
• Teacher builds any sequence; children study it for a
second.
• Teacher hides it and then removes one colour; show
again.
Q: How quickly can you spot the missing colour?
• Call out the missing colour.
• Repeat the activity. Children have their bricks loose in
front of them.
Q: Who can be the first to hold up the missing colour
brick?
• Repeat the activity using other colours. (Teacher could
keep a row / group score for the day / week - winning
row / group receives some reward)
• Copy the teacher’s sequence and replace the missing
colour.
Q: Can you remember where it was positioned?
SPOT THE
DIFFERENCE
• Children have their 6 bricks spread
randomly in front of them.
• Teacher stacks her 6 bricks, in any order
and holds them up for the children to see.
• Teacher secretly removes any one of the
6, and then holds up the 5 bricks, also
stacked.
• Children see who can be first to hold up the
missing brick.
Variations:
• Teacher removes 2 bricks and restacks the
remaining 3, holds them up.
Q: Can you hold up the 2 missing bricks?
